Thai Basil Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp oil (vegetable or sesame)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 Thai chili, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Set aside.
  2. Turn on the STS (Sauté-Then-Simmer) function on the rice cooker. Add oil, then sauté onion, garlic, and chili until fragrant.
  3. Add the cooked rice and pour in the prepared sauce. Stir-fry until rice is evenly coated.Push the rice to one side and crack an egg into the empty space. Scramble
  4. until mostly cooked, then mix into the rice.
  5. Stir in Thai basil leaves and cook until just wilted. Serve hot.
