Rice Cooker Whole Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 2lb)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 4 slices of ginger
  • 2 scallions
  • Black pepper (to taste) 

     


Directions

  1. Place the cleaned whole chicken directly into the rice cooker inner pot.
  2. Add salt, rice wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a pinch of black pepper. Rub evenly over the chicken.
  3. Cover the inner pot with a silicone lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to marinate.
  4. Take out the inner pot from the fridge. Tuck ginger slices and scallion segments underneath the chicken.
  5. Close the rice cooker lid and press the White Rice function.
  6. Once the cooking cycle finishes, let the chicken rest on Keep Warm for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
